Of these, 48 women aborted at home while one opted to be admitted to hospital after receiving misoprostol at home.
One woman underwent surgical evacuation 5 weeks following abortion for excessive bleeding and retained products of conception. Conclusions: This study suggests the feasibility and acceptability of home self-administration of misoprostol for medical abortion up to 56 days' gestation.

You will need to have a negative pregnancy test within 2 weeks before you start using this medicine. Continue to use birth control for at least 1 month after you stop using this medicine. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant. Begin using this medicine on the 2nd or 3rd day of your next monthly period.
