Room Attendant Job summary 7 Room Attendants will provide the best and friendliest service to our guest and homeowners. Clean guest units: Sweeps and mops floors, vacuums carpet, dusts furniture, makes beds, kitchen, dishes, trash removal Understand proper use of all cleaning chemicals. Be responsible for cleaning assigned units or areas according to written performance standards in a timely and efficient manner, and completing all corrections as assigned by supervisor.

Dispose of all trash and ashes in designated trash compactor or ash can. Maintain the overall cleanliness of the property and Housecare work areas by keeping linen closets and storage areas neat and clean, and by being cautious regarding trash disposal. Ensure proper placement of clean linens on services and proper disposal of dirty linens in maid's closet bins.

Report to work promptly as scheduled and do not depart until released by supervisor. Be responsible for all keys issued for the day. Do not leave your keys anywhere or with anyone other than a Housekeeping Supervisor. Turn in all keys to Housekeeping Supervisor before leaving for the day. Punch in and out on phone system on all services.

Reports needed repairs of unsafe conditions to supervisor. Responds to requests from guests, supervisors or management in a timely and efficient manner.

Maintains linen cart and supplies neat and organized to department standards. Maintains security of equipment, keys, and supplies issued each day. Replaces light bulbs. Transports trash and waste to disposal area. Replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses, writing, bathroom supplies, and linen. Cleans rooms in accordance to the specific brand and company minutes per room standard. Follows procedures for team cleaning and self-inspecting program.

Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Reports appropriate complaints or requests to the appropriate department. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction. Complete all pre-cleaning duties, including but not limited to, cleaning supplie for cart. Remove all trash and dirty linen from public spaces and hallways.

Keep all hallways, public areas and closets clean, neat and vacuumed Restock cart with cleaning and sanitization supplies such as bleach, mops, wipes, brooms. Replenish chemical bottles. Vacant rooms are inspected to ensure they are fully stocked with toilet paper, towels, and soaps before guests arrive.

They are also responsible for checking smoke alarms, lights, remote controls, and other permanent fixtures to make sure they are in proper working order. Room attendants generally begin their daily cleaning duties around check-out time, in the early afternoon hours for most hotels.

In the morning, they review charts to see which rooms are vacant and ready to be cleaned. If a room is still occupied, the attendant will knock before entering to see if the visitors are away or to ask when they want housekeeping services.

Trustworthiness is an extremely important characteristic for someone in this position, as he or she constantly works around both valuable hotel property and guest belongings. It is also important for a room attendant to be courteous to guests and knowledgeable about the hotel. Your working environment may be physically demanding. You may need to wear a uniform.
