After only six months of time on WWE television — and nine in the company — he walked away from his childhood dream to take care of his family — his sister had passed away and he wanted to be there to help take care of her children.

But sadly, the comeback never occurred. The next few months saw Monty struggling to get used before choosing to leave when his contract expired. The athletic ability and unfulfilled potential made Brown seem like the perfect signing. Unfortunately, the fit never felt right with Cor Von becoming a generic member of the New Breed faction. WWE never let Cor Von have the time to build his character with short matches and little promo opportunities.

Brown retired from wrestling around this time to help an ill relative and never returned. Old school TNA fans will still value the contributions of Monty to the company in the formative years. Few wrestlers improved as fast as Brown to become a rising star, but we sadly never got see his full potential play out as a world champion.
